Welcome to Region 3
Tom Walther holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville and is registered as a professional engineer in Wisconsin and Iowa. His entire career has been in public works engineering, 9 years with the Iowa Department of Transportation and the past 27 years as Highway Commissioner of Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, with additional oversight of the county airport and landfill. He has held all offices in the Northwest Branch of the Wisconsin Section. He is past chair of the Section’s History and Heritage Committee, has served as a member of the committee which developed the first Wisconsin Section Infrastructure Report Card and has served as a judge on various Section award committees. He has also served several terms on the Wisconsin Section Board of Directors including a term as Section President. Mr. Walther currently serves as ASCE Region 3 Director. Past or current national committee assignments include the Technical Activities Committee, Program Committee, Audit Committee, Finance Committee and Strategic Planning Committee. He also serves as Board Liaison to the Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee and to the Civil Engineering Forum for Innovation. Thomas R. Walther, P.E., F.ASCE
